Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-02
FlyHugz (“we”, “us”) is a travel app that helps you plan and remember your trips. This policy explains what data the app collects, the third-party services that process it on our behalf, and how you can delete it.
Accounts
When you first open FlyHugz, the app automatically creates an anonymous account so your trips can sync and back up without asking you to sign up. You can later link that account to Sign in with Apple or Google, which associates your data with those sign-in identities so you can restore it on another device.
Data we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work. This includes:
- Trip data — destinations, dates, itineraries, packing lists, notes, saved ideas, and other content you create in the app.
- Documents and photos — files and images you add to a trip, stored on our behalf by our storage provider.
- Companion name — the name you give your travel companion character.
- Account details from your sign-in provider — if you link your account, we receive your email address, and (when you sign in with Google) the name on your Google profile. We never ask you for these directly; they come from the sign-in provider.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active FlyHugz subscription (entitlement status), used to unlock paid features.
- Product analytics— usage events such as which screens you open, which features you use, purchase-funnel steps, repeated taps on an unresponsive control (“rage clicks”, recorded with the screen name and tap coordinates), and technical failures such as a sign-in check that did not complete. These events do not contain your trip content, and we do not collect crash reports.
- In-app survey responses — if we show you a survey inside the app and you answer it, your answers, including anything you type in a free-text box, are sent to our analytics provider.
These analytics are not anonymous.Once your account exists, we attach your account identifier to the analytics and subscription events described above, so they can be tied back to your account rather than only counted in aggregate. We do not use this data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
Service providers
We use the following third-party processors. Each receives only the data needed for its function:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Stores your account, trip data, and uploaded documents and photos.
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Processes purchase and entitlement information to determine your subscription status.
- PostHog — product analytics and in-app surveys. Receives the usage events and survey responses described above, along with your account identifier once you have an account.
- Cloudflare — bot and abuse protection (Turnstile). When the app creates your initial account, it completes a Cloudflare challenge; Cloudflare receives the technical signals needed to tell a real device from an automated one. This happens before any account exists and is not linked to your identity.
- Anthropic — AI features. When you use AI chat or AI packing suggestions, the relevant request content is sent to Anthropic to generate a response.
How we use your data
We use your data to provide the app’s features: to store and sync your trips across devices, to back up your documents and photos, to determine your subscription entitlements, to power AI features when you use them, and to understand and improve how the app works. We do not sell your personal data.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). When you do, we remove your data from our own systems on the server:
- your database rows (trips, itineraries, notes, saved ideas, and other content);
- your stored documents and photos (storage files); and
- your authentication account.
Please note the following limitations, stated plainly:
- Third-party processor data is not automatically erased. Deleting your account does not automatically remove data already held by our processors (for example, RevenueCat, PostHog, or Anthropic). If you want that data erased as well, contact us at the address below and we will handle the request.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To cancel or manage an active subscription, use Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting your FlyHugz account will not stop future billing.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Unused anonymous accounts may be automatically removed after a period of inactivity. When you delete your account, the data described above is removed from our systems as part of that process.
Children
FlyHugz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
